Renting villas and holiday apartments (as opposed to vacation abroad) is a relatively new direction in real estate and tourism business. Not everyone can afford to live as a family in a five-star hotel for several weeks or months, but no hotel offers an individual pool, a cozy fireplace and a quiet flowering garden. A summer cottage abroad is especially relevant for families with children, when it is difficult to stay in a regular room, and a two-room or two neighboring rooms is much more expensive. In addition, the ability to independently prepare children’s menu dishes is also a plus of such a place of rest. And if you plan a vacation with your family with children and a nanny or grandmother or a large and friendly company, then you should think about how to make your vacation pleasant, comfortable and at the same time relatively inexpensive.
Better sooner than expensive
“The search for a property should begin in March, because with the approach of summer rental rates increase. When choosing a home abroad for a summer vacation, it is better to contact domestic real estate companies that can offer the best option, taking into account the wishes and financial capabilities of the client, ”says Julia Titova, head of the foreign real estate department of BEST Real Estate Corporation.
Before choosing a specific option, you should, of course, decide on a budget. The cost is influenced by many factors: the country of residence, the location of the house directly on the coast or at some distance from the beach, the size of the territory, the house and the garden, the number of bedrooms and showers, one or more pools, the presence of a garage, tennis court, the proximity of commercial and entertainment points, view from the windows … If privacy is not to your liking, and the means are relatively limited, choose an apartment.
According to Marina Markarova, managing director of Blackwood, the best time to search for and enter into a lease is from January to March. Later, the choice will be much smaller, and prices higher. In addition, if you rent a villa in advance, you will pay only 30% of the cost as an advance. Now there is a stable demand for specific areas: Cyprus, Spain, France, Croatia, Italy, Bulgaria, Montenegro. When choosing customers are increasingly guided by the criterion of price-quality.

The French Riviera has long been considered an elite vacation spot. “The cost of a daily rental of a villa on the Cote d’Azur in France is comparable to living in a double room of a good hotel, only for this money you will have at your disposal a house with a large number of bedrooms, a living room, a well-equipped kitchen, a garden, a swimming pool,” says Marina Markarova. The average cost of a villa on the Cote d’Azur is about € 5-15 thousand per week, but this is not the limit. There are options for € 30-50 thousand per week or more. If you are interested in a quiet and less expensive vacation, Julia Titova recommends a choice of three towns: Juan-les-Pins, Antibes, Golf-Juan. Choosing a villa on the hills in Cannes, you can calmly contemplate the panorama of the entire coast of the Riviera. Seeking complete privacy and silence on their own territory for a lower price than coastal estates, they will like the hill towns (Mougins, Grasses, Mandelieu) – 5-7 km from the beaches, wonderful views and complete unity with nature. It is worth renting a car.
Cyprus has long been popular among our tourists. The most popular are Limassol and Paphos.
